Wicked Lab welcomes Nick Verginis to the team as Director of Systemic Change.

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Nick Verginis as Director of Systemic Change to the Wicked Lab team. Nick has over 20 years experience of leadership, inclusion and intrapreneurship in complex environments and a proven track record of building and facilitating unique cross-sector partnerships, collaborations and innovations.

Nick joins our global award-winning social enterprise as Director Systemic Change to create new cross-sector collaborations, foster learning and strengthen the community of practice for systemic change, deepen engagement with the UN SDGs and enable government and philanthropy through social innovation and partnership with social enterprise.

Joining Wicked Lab is the natural culmination of three years as the inaugural CEO of Social Enterprise Network Victoria (SENVIC), where membership multiplied and a partnership with Wicked Lab accelerated SENVIC’s establishment as an enabling and inclusive network of change-makers across Victoria.

Nick is a people-focused, talented collaborator and facilitator with extensive networks across social enterprise, government, the arts and community sectors. Nick has held a variety of board roles in the arts, not-for-profit and government. He has excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to create safe and brave forums and to deliver in complex and contested environments. Nick is at his best bringing his creative self to complex systems and operating environments which leverage his social innovation, intrapreneurship, stakeholder engagement, policy and legal expertise.

In 2020, Nick co-founded the Catalyst 2030 Social Enterprise Scholar-Practitioner Network with Wicked Lab’s Dr Sharon Zivkovic to build stronger cross-sector relationships and information flows between academia and social enterprise.

Nick holds a Master in Public Policy and Management and Bachelors of Law and Arts from the University of Melbourne, and is a graduate of the Executive Fellow Program with the Australia and New Zealand School of Government.

Emily Humphreys, Cofounder and CEO of Wicked Lab said "We are thrilled to appoint Nick Verginis as Director of Systemic Change to support the growth of Wicked Lab. Along with his proven experience in cross-sector partnerships, social entrepreneurship and systems-level innovation, Nick is a person who aligns with Wicked Lab's values: We are committed to impact, we are curious and evidence-driven, we play to our strengths, we celebrate the impact and success of our partners — and we have fun doing it! Welcome Nick to the team"

“I am thrilled to be joining the wonderful team at Wicked Lab and am committed to supporting this pioneering social enterprise to enable more people to create deep, lasting systemic change” said Nick.

“All parts of society are experiencing a unique moment as the dust settles post-pandemic. From government to business, charities to community groups, the pandemic pivots are over. It’s time to reset our compass to embrace complexity, to strive for systemic change and to accelerate our path towards the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.”

“Wicked Lab’s tools are helping to develop an inclusive and enabling social enterprise ecosystem in Victoria and I am super-excited to help other passionate change-makers to accelerate their impact.”
